This is your journey towards becoming a Qualified Train Driver who will be responsible for driving our passengers across our route safely and efficiently.

We are looking for individuals that are able to;

• Maintain high levels of concentration with excellent attention to detail
• Follow rules, instructions and procedures
• Easily accommodate shift work on a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week basis
• Work independently for long periods of time while maintaining high levels of awareness

To join our driver team, there are a few things you'll need to consider:

• You must have the right to live and work in the UK
• You must be aged 20 1/2 years or over
• You will need to pass a Train Driver Medical including a drugs and alcohol test.
• All applicants must be able to travel to the selected depot within 60 minutes.

Selection Process:

Following on from an application, providing you meet the requirements you will then be invited to complete a series of online assessments, interviews and in house assessments with The OPC who GTS work in partnership with for Trainee Driver Recruitment.

Medicals & References

All successful candidates will be required to undertake a train driver medical which includes a colour vision test and a drugs and alcohol test as well as undergoing reference checks and basic criminality checks.
